The have that in America I believe - old switchers have their engines removed and replaced with RC equipment. They then control the train loco or another switcher over the Multiple Working system.

738/939 have multiple working.

Platform 5 book confirms the multiple working fitted, but it must be one hell of a system and long jumper cables as one is allocated to TO and one to OC. How are they conected ? via the national grid

Maybe either to work in multiple with the R/C ones, or they were fitted when they were working with each other? I don't know, I was just stating a fact!:D
