Fred, you know not all units are identical in characteristic don't you? just because one crashed through every piece of pointwork with me on it doesn't mean they are all terrible. This one was just incredibly s****t (it was a refurb btw), I'm sure there are some 455s around that are "ok". I occasionally wonder which 455 it was I slid down on a streak of a drunkards vomit. If it wasn't for the vomit it would have been an ok trip.

but the 450s are better...and thats saying something.

450s are everywhere as ive said try standing at staines for 2 hours you get in and out of hot (450) cold (458) its meaningless 455s have proper interirors well the refurbs do nice spacey not cramped 3+2 450 458s aren't bad either

Well, you must always break the AirCon as you go in - I expect Fredmaster expells a lot of hot air when he inflates.

Never been on a Desiro with busted aircon... stuffy 455s - now thats more common!

Refurbished 455s are much better than the unrefurbished ones, or the junk Southern call a 'refurbishment', or 'refresh' or whatever they say.

Ahaha! exactly my point theres nothing wrong with Desiros interiors perhaps one or two failures of traction motors on the exterior but other than that, they still look great

we have a lot of hvac faults on the 350's when they first came out but seem to be settling down now, on an 8 car last summer and one coach was like a hair dryer inside, but ppl still sat there because it was a seat rather than standing and to make it worse you could see the water coming out the air-con dribbling down the side off the train.

At least you've been on a 450, but thats simply not good enough.

But none of the 444s or 450s ive travelled on have had defective air con, only one 444 had a traction motor failure, so it just went happily on one

Then of course you have the one which decided to have a gearbox seizure and therefore closed the up slow line between Winchfield and Farnborough, therefore meaning Fleet couldn't be served by any London-bound services. Must have been great fun in the signal box during the evening peak hours!

I think we can constantly repeat bad reports of our least favourite units - isn't it funny how all the Piggy Fans have been on all these failed Desiros, and us Desirites have not been on any/very few.

Me thinks the Piggy Fans have been breaking the Desiros...

yes Im getting annoyed with it , in the subject though most announcements on desiros are repeated thousands of times you will get ''This is staines this train/ain is for windsor and eton/onn riverside calling at Wrasybury , Sunnymeads , datchhet and windsor and etonnn riversidddeee.

Its happend to me on 450 088.
