91114 vinyl'd

Apparantley duplex-pantographed 91114 has become the latest 91 to recieve a unique vinyl livery and has been named Durham Cathedral (a name which 91102 used to carry).

I'm not yet sure what the vinyl livery is but I'm sure pics will be along shortly.

Whatever it turns out to be, I for one welcome the break from the monotonous grey colour scheme!

Has it still got the duplex pantograph? I thought that was only fitted for testing...

[Oh OK, so the duplex has been approved for 'testing' in regular use on 91114 in the fleet. Saw the loco in Peterborough, forgot about the duplex but observed the "dog's dinner" advertising. Then saw 91101 as described in my current sig!]

It has, and I saw it using the rear pan the other day so it must have now been approved for regular use. It looks really odd pointing the wrong way!

If I recall correctly what was said at the time it was fitted, the test is expected to last around a year and if successful will be fitted to the other 30 locos.

I saw it this morning on its way to Newcastle. I will post a picture later, it looks very smart indeed.

In summary, really like the nameplate. The font on the advertising is quite nice, but don't like the scattered random look of the pictures.

East Coast grey actually looks really nice when it's fresh. Just looks tatty so quickly
