Several issues on the ECML today. High winds in Scotland (an amended timetable as a result), services going no further than Edinburgh. Also, there is a signalling problem between Retford and Newark North Gate, and apparently a Sunday service is running in Scotland.

I walked through Newcastle station some 30 minutes ago on my way home. They were announcing delays due to a tree on the line so assume that will probably be the problem here. It is wild out there.

This train is now on the move but has gone southbound, back towards Durham.Must be a problem in the Birtley area.

Several services are now terminating at Newcastle, with pax using later services. Additionally stopping at Alnmouth.

Winds are picking up in the NE as well so wouldn't be surprised if this disruption continues overnight.
