Although I used to be a spotter when I was a kid I don`t "spot" anymore, though I do keep a record of which rolling stock I`ve been on, where it went, if it was on time and how full the service was.

The thing is, I`ve been hauled by all the class 91s on the ECML (most 2 or 3 times or more) but never by 91 016 / 91 116. Is there some reason for this ?

Must just be coincidence - it's certainly around at the moment. I saw it at York station on the 8th of this month.

Just one of those things I expect. Took me ages to get 91027/127, almost exactly 14 years after the first one I ever rode behind and 4 years after the last new one for haulage.

Chance is indeed a strange bedfellow, I got hauled by 91 027 within a few weeks of when I (re)started doing loads of train travel - a lot of it on Railrovers - and have been behind it three times in total :
15 Jun 1998 Donc > P/borough
26 Jan 2003 Kings X > Doncaster
16 Dec 2007 Kings X > Retford (as 91 127)

Yet never, in 11 years, have I been behind 91 016 / 91 116.......

I still don't have 390053... Last one to get, and the irony of it as well! I've been travelling on Pendos regularly since 2004 as well; Penny (I think she's 024) is my most travelled on Pendo, I count almost 30 trips on her so far).

An aquaintance of mine is heavily into Switzerland, has been going there regularly for many years and got all the Ae6/6s for haulage (there is / was over 100 of them) bar 6.

The first time we met following my first full trip to Switzerland, I showed him my moves book (still using pen and paper then ) and his face fell; the only Ae6/6 I have ever had on an SBB service train was one of the six he still needed!
