at Garscadden?

I was on this today and when it got to Garscadden some guy ran on (he didn't look the full shilling to be honest, wore a yellow waist jacket, noticed that it didn't have any logo on the back of it) and said that everybody was to leave the train as it was terminating. Any idea as to why? This wee ned guy was absolutely losing the plot. He must have been about 14 with the standard bottle of Buckfast, going off his nut.

Thanks a lot!

I don't know the reason myself mate, but if you have access to journey check at the time through your phone it usually tells you why. A reason for the termination should be made on board however, in this case by the Driver.

most of the time trains that terminate not at their desired stop are usually faulty or some technical error

No - wrong.

Most trains that get cancelled or finish short have no problem with the set. Mostly things get messed around to maintain a service when something elsewhere has gone wrong.

In this case the unit was failed as someone said above ( broken window?) and they take the opportunity of Garscadden due to the depot there.

They would have maybe sent a "Yopper" running up from the depot to probably confirm the "fail on vandalism" with the driver. Why he ran around telling Ada and Bert we don't know. Failed on a defective intercom? ;)

Oh dear. Garscadden isn't a nice place to be abandoned... Best guess would have to be that it's going into the depot for some reason or other, though. If it was vandalism, it was perhaps seen as a sensible idea to terminate it here rather than running to Dalmuir then back empty. As an example, a broken window poses a rather serious health and safety risk. That all said, we can't speculate too much as we don't know exactly what happened here.

North Clyde Line isn't a great one for announcements TBH though. It's all automated, so when they don't work or something happens things just aren't announced, or when they are they are generally too muffled to make out. Although I have a great deal of respect for North Clyde staff (particularly at nights), they really could do better when it comes to passenger communication on the whole.

Vandalism makes sense. I didn't see any broken windows though, however, I did see that somebody wrote "F*ck Polis" on the front of the train and thought it was rather odd that it would have been allowed on its way with that on the front.
