Was it only 66157 with the power on, or were some of the others assisting? If it was '157 on it's own, that's quite some weight to pull! <D

1016 tonnes. Our intermodel trains reguarly see between 1300 and 1700 tonnes, so a single 66 can handle a fair bit more.

Great picture though.

Think it was just 66157 powering, really really glad I got the shot of that!! - Even if a little dull, was a heck of a sight and I did RA pub afterwards just gibbering!!

Very nice shot! Now silly question here to a railway noobie.

Did you know that these were coming along or was it a case of going down and and and just waiting?

Well, I did have advance warning from a mate with the gen... however, I did expect it to turn up 20mins later than it did - this shot was a case of running up a footbridge, emergency dump bag and grab a shot!!!! :D

Lol!! I don't run often hence my nickname of 'Tortoise' !! - but, when the situation calls for it, I do run and even if I get a good shot I can feel a bit of a numpty when there are normals around!! - oh and the panting is a bit bad too!! LOL!! :D

if they all were running there would be 26 400 neddies on tap!!
I thought there was a rule were there was only to be 5 locos in multiple.

I think this was changed only very recently hence why it's pretty rare to see this amount of 66s in a convoy...
