Some pretty dire GU performance today. On the 1300 off Bristol, absolutely crawling along, staff spoofing and saying on minimum GUs and lost loads of time with extra stops being added.

According to the staff the 1123 off Weston was also canned at Bristol because of GU issues.
There also seemed to be a problem this morning between Plymouth and Ivybridge due to a failed train, according to NRE - was that also an IET?

According to Chime Whistel Publishing on 'X' :

"Sources at GW say that there is to be a briefing in 2 weeks, just prior to new timetable, explaining measures to be taken to minimise disruption caused by failure of fuel pumps. Currently, the repairs can only be carried out at 2 locations - a third is being considered."

Does the availability fee per day reduce of the set does limp into service with isolated pans, dud GU's etc. Or do the lawyers calculate the penalties due to Hitachi at the end of the day calculating delay minutes caused by DO running or lack of GU's causing slower running times.

Yes, that was an IET that sat at the bottom of Hemerdon for nearly 2 hours refusing to work. Should add that this was not down to a GU failure.

No lawyers are involved in this. Basically it is a clerical activity, carrying out the clauses in the contract that adds up presentation failures to form a periodic adjustment to the availability payments via the overall performance regime. It’s not a straight x pounds for every engine failure.

Delay minutes have no value in this contract - they are irrelevant.
