Just passed through Dawlish Warren on 1J74 from Plymouth to Paddington
Heard it coming half a mile away as the noise it was emitting was ear splitting
Sounds like a transmission issue on the front or second coach
Never heard one do that before

The other day we observed one pulling away from a signal check at Dawlish on the sea wall with clag from the exhaust ports

Possibly the radiator fans. It made it to Reading OK but sadly 99 late due to a fatality at Twyford.
