It acquired an 18 minute delay between Retford and Doncaster (didnt stop at either) which may yield a clue, I dunno.

Thanks for the info. I'm stuck in Edinburgh waiting for it, thankfully in the First Class lounge :)

Been delayed quite a bit, but it's now due into Aberdeen 103 late, after getting in the way of/stuck behind just about everything else on its way!

Can't say I'm complaining. Delay Repay will refund the cost of my ticket, I had a very tasty dinner for free with plenty of booze and I had a comfortable wait in the FC lounge. :D

I certainly wouldn't be complaining either! <D

Was this the only service to be diverted? If so, surely the damaged equipment would mean other services would have to be diverted too (which would cause a bit of an issue given Leeds-Colton Jct isnt wired :D )

I don't know for certain, but the 16:00 to Aberdeen behind us encountered only minimal delays and seemed to run direct from York-Doncaster, so I suspect they got things fixed quite quickly.

On a train...somewhere!
Job was stopped for around 60mins with no signalling control from Doncaster PSB between Shaftholme Jn (exclusive) and Temple Hirst Jn. The TDM had been affected, the remote panel worked when switched in by the MOM and was used briefly until a reset by the S&T restored signalling to the power box.

You got lucky by being on a diesel service, and crew being available (or already on board) who signed the diversionary route.
