By road, I should think - as far as I'm aware, the GCR doesn't have a main line connection (yet!).
Correct, only the GCR North has a connection
Cant see with the budget cuts for any more expansion money from the council or tourist board though i am afraid and i think 5-10 £million would be needed to put the embankment and bridges over the canal and NWR back plus relocation of the engine sheds

There is some talk in Heritage Railway that the GCR may have a bridge put in over the midland line on the back of a rumoured contract to move stone out of Mountsorrel Quarry. All very much up in the air, but apparently they want to move lorry traffic off the local roads, so for a relatively minor investment It may be possible to do so.
