Currently on a 710 (710269 to be specific) at Stratford, waiting to leave towards Camden Road. Since when did these run on here? Before this any units I'd seen on the Mildmay line were 378s.

Additional 710s were procured to release more 378s for an enhanced Windrush line service.

710/2s (4-car) are more unusual, normally it is 710/3s (5-car) on the Mildmay.

The intention was to eventually use 6 x 710s on the NLL, and this dates back to the ordered numbers in 2017. The post I’ll link to below includes the TfL explanation for the various numbers, as they explain the original figure of 6 on the NLL was to allow 6 x 378 to move south to help provide an increased ELL frequency.

Is there still some 710s still being unused or are more being made? Where are they getting the additional 710s from? Same could be said for the planned timetable increase that TFL announced a while back for the Cheshunt and Enfield branches.

I’m sorry I don’t know the details of how and where they’re currently used, and how the real allocations relate to the theoretical numbers available. Hopefully someone local to the routes will have an answer.

All the 710s ordered have been delivered and all are now in service - delivery was a long protracted time but they did all make it in the end.

I believe there is some spare capacity in the 710/1 and 710/2 4 car fleet. Certainly when we have been chasing them for haulage there are always several missing in service on any day! and not just the odd ones out for maintenance.
