Yesterday (11 May), passing through Reading at about 1515, I saw a new EMU in the 3rd rail platforms. What was it? Logic says it should be a 707, but I don't recall seeing loads of red. In my consciousness it was white, making it a 700. Surely not!

Can anyone help settle the conflict in my mind, please?

Easy question to get your answer: What colour was it?

It may well be that any subsequent 707s coming off the production line will no longer be painted SWT red, in light of the franchise going to First SWR.

So I guess they will be delivered in neutral branding until the new brand is worked out.

It is very much not the case. Contract was signed by SWT and Angel. No change - nothing to see - all continuing as planned.

You guess wrong, the contract is signed so any variance on it would have a financial penalty attached, ergo they will all be delivered in red as stipulated by the contract!

Why do people assume that any changes can be done with a simple phone call?

id imagine all the paint has already been ordered and alot more of the order have been built or part built as we speak than we know about.

Odd to think these will be running around in red for whoever their new operator will be.....as i cant see they will be vinyled!

A reminder that supposed "paint warrenties" are not immune, a sufficient application of £££ can remove such blocks

Every 707 is constructed and painted red already.
