6V50 failed, Hungerford, down line, Thu 16/4/26

6V50 1421 Wembley Receptions 1-7 to Merehead Quarry (Fhh) has failed in the Hungerford area blocking line for 2 hrs so far. 1Z99 is no on way up from (I assume) Westbury and has arrived near Bedwyn.

No trains through area and Bedwyn shuttles cancelled, through trains via Swindon.

Have struggled to get home but managed a lift in the end. Any other details welcome of the failure given the recent failure of 59104 in same area

I just hope GWR does everything in its power to ensure all drivers who sign the B and H retain our Via Box route knowledge, as these type of events are increasingly common. A while back there was a purge on drivers route knowledge and this still causes problems now, and it is increasingly harder to get trains to be able to divert via Bristol when the B and H gets closed, due to traincrew route knowledge loss.
