I filmed 71 today as it passed Cheltenham, brakes smouldering on one of the trains tanks. The train was halted in the station, the station evacuated & the fire brigade called. Not long heard that 6e41 is now on it's way north again at 17:00 'ish

You make it sound like it was 60071!!! I did already know it was a TEA tank that was at fault but that's a cracking video!

if you look at the points you can see them move over as the loco gets on to them

I know your hinting something about the points in the above posts, but when its going in to the loop, why are they like that?

They are called unworked spring operated catch points are they are installed to prevent a vehicle running backwards onto the mainline from the loop.

Where a Loop line is on a gradient of 1 in 260 or steeper there are two methods of operation for the entry points, either they are unworked spring operated, or they are power operated with immediate normalisation after the track circuit clears.

In the normal course of events, power operated points do not move after use until a new route is set up.

The end of loose coupled freights now means that there are no new spring unworked operated catch points being installed. Those that remain are not modified until due for renewal when they are replaced with power operated points.

Are you sure that is 6B13? It's going a very odd way if it is.
6B13 Robeston to Westerleigh, but Severn Tunnel Junction is closed for remodelling (it should be reopened tomorrow morning). Hence it has been diverted via Hereford/Shrewsbury, quite a diversion it must add 100 miles to the journey.
