My first sighting of a Class 68 on the Main Line, 68005 is seen working 4D47 Inverness - Mossend Intermodal past Gain Road near Cumbernauld

thanks, the OHLE has only been up for less than a year, most of the local services went over to EMU's in May.

I saw it coming down from Inverness today at Aviemore. Also my first sighting of a 68 on the mainline. Took me by surprise to see it, I was only expecting a 66.

I'd seen 68003 stabled at Motherwell TMD but had went out twice before yesterday to catch 003 and 005 but they had been running early and had missed them. What did you think of the 68's?

I don't particularly like the look of them, find them a bit ugly. However something different to see this far north I suppose.

I think they look OK and like you say it is good to see something different out and about.

I saw 68005 again today at Coatbridge Central on 4D47 Inverness - Mossend, though typically the sun vanished as it approached the station and reappeared after it passed the station.
