66727 Livery

Hi,

I saw 66727 today and it looks quite good in its new 'Maritime' blue livery, but looking at online photos, it seems that it has been repainted recently. Does anybody know when and where this loco was repainted?

I'm going to take a good educated guess ... Toton. And in the last two weeks.

Looking at sighting lists, there was a big gap from the 2nd - 17th September.

It was done at Eastleigh Arlington and came out on either the 15th of September or the 16th of September.

That'd make sense, as it was last seen at Eastleigh before the 2 week gap.

Correct! All GBRf and Direct Rail Services 66s are being or have been repainted by Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh, including both the Royal Scotsman locos, London Underground pair and the MSC one. Has been ongoing since 2013.

One of Freightliners has visited the Arlington paint booth at Eastleigh as well.

To be pedantic...
66728-66737 were painted by Brush/Wabtec at Loughborough. All others since then have been painted at Eastleigh , with the exception of 66723-66726 which still retain First Group livery
