Hot news.. "66190".. Previously on loan to the French (I presume) has been 'copped' this afternoon. I guess it's just come off the boat. as it still has "Euro Rail" on the side of loco, with the EWS livery. A plate about 3ft x 2 on the front with red and white stripes, and the usual SNCF style loco plate on the cabside! All very foreign.. It got towed out dead, by 67024 later this afternoon, heading North. I guess for a check over and put it back on the capital stock here I guess!

More likely it's here to receive the modification for sending to Poland I'm afraid.

Plus those that stay in france will be back over here for heavy overhauls in any case.

Not sure what is going on but 66190 returned to the UK on 30th April and was taken to Toton, not heard of it leaving there yet.

EuroCargoRail is EWS's (now DB Schenker's) continental operation. The striped plates are required for all locomotives in France (Typically for the French SNCF ignores this rule but it is rigidly enforced for open access).

The Cabside plate is a UIC plate, lists the locos European number (UK number with a prefix to show what it is (D-Lok) and its native country (IIRC 70 for BR) and check digit suffix)

According to reports I have seen it is now at Wembley waiting a trip to Dollands Moor and onward movement back to the continent.

Did see some phots of it at Toton on the loadbank and it did not appear to have been modified. It apparently came back as the repairs it required could not be carried out in France.

Help me out here please, i only need a couple of DBS 66's to clear, needless to say the few i need to see are now Europe based locos, off the top of my head 66240 & 66245 are 2 of them, as has been said on this post they come back to the UK for maintenance.......... can you see where this is leading?

Simple question, is it possible to find out when there due back to the UK for a Maintenance visit? Coz i ain't trawling all accross France to find em

Probably only come back after a serious failure, so if they dont break down, they dont come back.

I understand it the same way.

They used to come back for maintenance but I assume that they now have facilties in France for maintenance as they would need something for the ones with the air con units on them that can't come here.
