66 004 hits a wagon at Bescot.

That's a brilliant piece of terminology.Although hang on, isn't coupling a wagon to a loco a kind of an interface? :P
Perhaps the OP should say "in an aggressive locomotive/wagon interface"?

I only got a brief look this evening while passing, having not known that anything had happened, but to me it looked like the '66' had run into the buffers here: http://goo.gl/maps/u3Pnt
It did have what looked to me like a low sided ballast wagon attached to it, but that was at the opposite end, with the 66 seemingly having run into the buffers. It appeared that the buffers were pushed back and the rails lifted up underneath them, leaving the bogie on the non wagon end of the 66 riding up the rails.
As I say, I only got a brief look, so apologies if my account is inaccurate. I was just looking out of the window when the 66 briefly caught my eye!

Got a better look at it today. I'm not 100% sure whether the '66' had hit the buffers, but it certainly got close enough to cause the rails just short of the buffers to be broken/split. The rails slope steeply up towards the buffers, so I'd guess the 66 came to a rest against this slope, breaking the rails. As I said yesterday, the bogie had certainly started to climb this slope.
Anyway, the 66 was just slowly moving away under its own power at around 17:20 today, just as the LM BHM - RGL was passing.

I believe that it is possible that a rake of MOA wagons may have ran away and collided with the locomotive, pushing it through the stop blocks. RAIB allegedly attended.

That was the situation when I passed by at about 13.00, with several staff in attendance.
That's my understanding too.
Spoke to a Saltley driver at Oxford this morning who confirmed that the wagons ran away from the reception sidings into the loco in the neck while the Bescot man was changing ends.

Correct - was in the log that the loco was the unfortunate victim of some sort of runaway.Lets wait for the enquiry.

Indeed, there is no indication of the cause at present, could have been any one of a number of causes.
