Also nice to see the livery they've chosen, looks smart too. That livery covers another part in history too and makes a difference to the usual BR apple green.

Yes it's nice to see a loco carrying a different colour scheme from the past rather than choosing one of the more usual colours. This is a reason why I'm looking forward to seeing Flying Scotsman in wartime black - just a shame it's only going to keep these colours for a few months.

Splendid! I was there yesterday, and was surprised not so much at how good the blue looked (I expected it to look good) but how bright it was - it's not as dark as I was expecting. If anything, that made it look even better!

Sorry call me ignorant but is it finished? The smoke box looks like its needs a coat of gloss black, or is it meant to look like that?

6023 really does look absolutely fantastic. Although I'm a distinctly "diesel" person, I love the Western Region and think that the Kings are a fascinating and truly awesome part of the region's history!

Sorry to be a bit vague here but are there mainline aspirations for this loco? (I hope so!)
