has been outshopped in a new livery with DBS branding (some steel company) and to be reintroduced to service. Is this showing that they may start using the 60's (not all but a few) or is it just publicity?

Wonder if this means Corus will be rebranded soon. Bet this also means a new limited edition for Hornby...

There has been a suggestion that 15 will be overhauled but i'll believe it when it actually happens

Heard something about with all infrastructure and increase in traffic expected its in their interests to get them ready now while not needed so there not rushed into traffic and actually then have a decent life expectancy rather than a botch job and in for repairs everyother week

Maybe DBS have come to their senses, & realised they can put the 60's to good use, instead of mothballing them. We can only but hope.

60099 has received a lot of new / re-furbished parts.

Keep an eye out for 60015 next, overhauled power unit, new main gen, refurbished bogies, the list goes on! Shouldn't be grey when it is completed either ;)

So are 60's rare then? The oil train into the Shell distribution centre in Jarrow is always hauled by a 60.

Not always, although mostly. For a time it was 66s, and even double headed by 66s. Seems to be back to 60s recently.

I go a couple of times a week to see these on a evening. For a short time at the beginning of August there were 66's on (including 66152) but 60's are now back on it.

Some pictures of the 60's on the tanks:

I hope 60099 makes an appearence on the tanks, I am really looking forward to when I see her and it is one of them I need!!
