was on a road review today, so headed down to Cardiff with the aim of being finished in time to get out to Elford for 6M00. For reasons inexplicable, I ended up cutting it a little fine - too fine as it happened. The school run drivers who'd struggle to differentiate their arses from their elbows let alone drive at an appropriate speed for the road (does 30 in a 60 class as dangerous driving?!) delayed me just long enough to arrive at Elford as the 60 was coming to a stand in the loop. However, Elford was playing host to The Chair, and he was fuming! The sun was out when the 60 came into view but 6M00 staggered for that long down the final straight that the sun died on him leading to a vile shot. Oh well, wasn't a great shame that I missed that farce then! The Chair then reported that he was off to see Fastline-liveried 66434 on the DRS modal, but I really wanted the 60. I scuttled off to Portway, realised that the shot wouldn't be perfect with the sun being off the nose, and set about finding somewhere else to go. My bright idea was Kingsbury brickworks - I don't know what on earth possessed me! Shadows even in June would screw that over so why I though it would work in October I don't know. So, I was left with no option - a race back to Tamworth for the station shot! At least the sun would be on the front - if it was out.
