LNER A4 60009 Union of South Africa was at the helm of the Railway touring companies railtour The Cumbrian Mountain Express on the 16th of August 2014. The A4 was due to come onto the train at Crewe but due to the FBU strike and the amber steam alert in the North west still in place the A4 had to travel light engine over Shap from Crewe thus enabling 09 to take train back over Shap to Crewe later that afternoon . The A4 is first seen North of Oxenholme filmed from the wall near a small underpass . The return sees 60009 near Hackthorpe on her way towards Shap Summit with a class 57 on the rear .
