Hope I have got this in the right place and that I am not duplicating old news on this Forum. But with the impending departure of this magnificent beast to be stuffed and mounted in a Scottish Museum, time is running out to get a run behind her. I am not bothered about the Main Line but would love to have a run on a Preserved Line, just missed her this year on the Nene Valley and Mid Norfolk when the opportunity was present and relatively easily obtained had I had time at the time.

So any long term knowledge of lines and dates that she is proposed before the clock runs out please?

No9 currently at the ELR having some work done to her. After that she will be on the mainline during December. No itinerary has been released for next year yet but should include a few trips to a couple of preserved railways. As to the clock all going well should run out in July 2019.

My info still showing 60009, train will start ECS at Swanage with diesel at rear, take up service on arrival at Poole. On the return journey, the steamer will be detatched at Salisbury and run E + C to Southall, while the diesel will return the train to Poole where apparently it will go to the sidings as no ECS given after its arrival

Saw this thread and thought “must be still at Toton”, then realised it was about some water boiling device...

A4 no 60009 is at Riley's in Bury having repairs to a cracked cylinder and also rectification of a boiler problem. As a result it has missed quite a few mainline turns. It is hoped tp have it ready for its December 7 turn. Details of mainline tours in 2017 amd 2018 are avaiiable at www.uksteam.info
