Switched on To Safety is a DBS initiative to reduce accidents and make the Company a safer place to work. Accidents also cost money, so by preventing them, the Company can save cash too!
The nameplate is apparently the name of someone who died in service (I have never heard of him) but is the chioice of logo and nameplate a bit thoughtless perhaps?

They have painted 60007 red? Will the puffer buffers not be angry? I dont think an A4 ever carried DBS livery during service!

All new components internally, overhauled and refurbished. It's reported as being the first of the "Super Sixty" overhauls.

60077 is the next one to become a super 60 and went in for the work on Monday.

The white detailing on the bogies looks brilliant. What a handsome beast!
Only because the stupid painters in recent years can't apply them properly! "Sir Nigel Gresley" is 60007, whilst the former "Robert Adam" is 60 007. When the TOPS numbers were originally applied BR made a big thing about there being a space between the class number and class member number but it seems to have become progressively lost over the last 20 years.

That's just what I was thinking, sounds like there should be a ghost story there. Did the refurb include the installation of the ghost of the unfortunate DB employee the loco is named after (No disrespect meant)?
The normal practice is usually just to carry the name of the driver.

That one would take a lot of time, money and effort to get back up and running again, and even if they were to theoretically (It's not at all cost-effetive to do so), as part of the Super Sixty programme it would no doubt be painted in DB Schenker red. I suspect that 081 only has a future as a source of spare parts ahead of it.DB should get 081 up n running in Bruswick Green

Well 60007 has failed today at Leicester with a defective fuel pump and got rescued by 67030.

No It did have a new ne but it came back off and i think it will be back out working Tommorrow or it may of been working Today But in the After noon

You only have to ecpect teething problems with something that's been out of service for that long and had that much work done to it. That's the whole point of running in, isn't it.

True, i think if it was down to me i might have put a loco dead in tow for its first few trips...... just in case, good to see it back though.
