Oh im not argueing that but i was under the impression that the 59 was a better loco than the 60, and with the amount of 59's available i would have thought there would be no want or need for 60's down there on the stone trains.

I was under the impression that a 60 can outhaul a 59 because of it's more technical electronics, which allow a % slippage which gives better adhesion than a 59 can manage.

Very unlikely they'll have already scrapped it.. DBS seem to usually like to leave locos sitting around for years rusting until they can do nothing but scrap them.

It put a leg out of bed, if it is to be kept and returned to service, it will need a replacement power unit.
