Hi,
6 Years since the 7/7 Bombings brought chaos to London, and them 6 years have left LU terrified of it happening again, we learnt a lot from that day but made the ultimate sacrifice, lives.
I don't think this will ever leave anyone's mind.

I remember that day very well. It was enrichment week at my school and we were out at Richmond in Yorkshire for the day. We were sitting next to the river Swale having our lunch when someone told me a bus in London exploded. At first I thought it was just a joke but then when I got back home and put the news on I realised it was real.

R.I.P to all those that died.

I also remember that day very well. I was in Berlin and had just visited the site of the wall near to 'Checkpoint Charlie' when my mobile telephone rang. It was my mother telling me that I should not worry as all family members had been accounted for and were OK.

The point is, until then I had not even known about the bombs.

I don't necessarily think LU are terrified of it happening again.. I'm certainly not anyway and I haven't spoken to another member of staff who is scared of it. I think we're just all aware that it's a possibility and that we're in a better position to deal with it than we were before.

I remember I was in Year 9 at school, one of the guys had a radio on during lunch (down on the fields near the tarmac javelin/discus/rounders pitch and at first we didnt beleive him, and once we realised he wasnt messing us around, we all started calling one of the girls who had been down to london for a few days :/

I remember I was off sick from work and in bed with the radio on and they were saying something about people being told not to use the tube. Thought "what's he talking about"?,put the news channel on the tv and found out what was happening from there.

I was in the office in school making something on the computer when I heard it on the radio. I went back to the classroom and told everyone, because that's what children do when they hear important sounding stuff! It made one boy nervous as his parents were in London, but fortunately they were just in Enfield! I suppose I was too young to really understand it then.

I was coming back from Northern Spain on the Pont Aven ship and rumour passed about and when we turned on the news, we saw the bus, ripped apart. RIP those who died. I know this isn't very important as lives are way more important, but what happened to the tube stock affected by the bombs??

I remember watching a episode of The Tube on Sky3 and it showed one of the worst damaged cars being craned out and sent for scrap, i think the others were scrapped aswell.

Some were actually rebuilt and are now running again.
I watched them on the CCTV moving them, then on TV lifting them.

The actual bombed cars are still in Govt. storage, there is presently a need for a door that I understand they are trying to get from a bombed car!

The two C08 stock units ( 5606 and 5734 ) were rebuilt from the damaged C stock ( units 5505 and 5713 ). Officially one car from each - the detonation vehicles - were scrapped and two completely new vehicles built, but it has since emerged that while the bodyshells in question were indeed brand new they were built on the original underframes! It was one of the 1973 cars that was scrapped.

I know the ones you mean and have wondered the same myself, but are you sure those are the 7/7 carriages? I'd be very surprised if LU left them where they can be seen so easily!

They were the other two cars from the three car set involved. The C stock cars (what was left) were actually sent to Hungary, rebuilt and are now running about again.
Other bombed cars are in Government storage.
