Hi all, here is a quick shot of the train we have been waiting for, was 30 late passing Ryhope not the best of shots but for the record

well a valenta is noisy. Thinking about some people would think its a MTU. Told you they looked like mtus.

I think it's quite ugly though. Needs more yellow. Plenty of people in the cab though!

If Fred thinks the revised light clusters means the engine is MTU, he's way off the mark. Some GNER power cars had those clusters well before MTU'ing, and the Network Rail NMT power cars have the revised clusters (well 43013 does) but they are Valenta.

You cannot know the engine by the way it looks.

Meaning you obviously read that it's a Valenta somewhere, and are now pretending to be a smartarse.

You're just making a fool of yourself.

Saying that, Midland Mainline VP185s all have the newer (But not MTU style) Light clusters.

Can you let me know if you are passing Colton Jn at any photographable times please? As I can cycle there in about 35 mins. Although a weekend is better - but are your trips confined to weekdays?

Grand Central have gone for a very sensible choice of colour, given the amount of clag that HSTs spit out.

I dread to think how the EMT ones are going to look after a week or two if they get painted into SWT style mainline white!

I agree that more yellow on the front would look better though

I think the HST was hellfire some nice thrash from it, got it at Pelaw today, can't remember which one led but nice bit of clag from front loco and some nice horn

nice to see the GC staff out and about 'again' lol

Going south 43080 led with 43067 on rear.
