Evening all,

I hope this message finds you well and coping as best as possible given the current circumstances. I am after some information relevant to construction of a SimSig timetable.

At present there is a morning ECS working - 5P51 (0706 Exeter New Yard - Exeter St. Davids) - https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/L83548/2020-09-03/detailed - which has the timing path of a GWR Class 800 / 802 and forms 2P51 (0726 Exeter St. Davids - Plymouth). I note, however, that there is no HST path from Exeter St. Davids to Exeter New Yard the previous evening which leads me to conclude either:

- that a Class 800 / 802 (on arrives at Exeter St. Davids as a 10-car set which then divides with 5 cars continuing to Plymouth and the remaining 5 working to Plymouth.
or
- that 1C36 (2200 Paddington - Exeter SD, via. Bristol Temple Meads, arr. 0113) gets put into Exeter TMD as 5C36 and that the unit from 5C36 is moved to New Yard later in the night to work 5P51 next morning.

However there is nothing I can find on RTT (RealTimeTrains) to suggest that either of the above is correct. It was the case for a while that a morning ECS left Laira T&RSMD at 0150 for Exeter New Yard (working ID as 5E50) arriving at around 0430 (I think) and this then became 5P51. That working from Laira is, according to the Working TT, not running until 15th September and there is no obvious replacement.

Looking to the end of September 2020 there are engineering works between Norton Fitzwarren and Cowley Bridge Junction for 5 days (28th September - 02nd October: track renewals around the Tiverton Parkway area) for 1C36 and 5C36 are not operating between Taunton and Exeter. The last train down from Paddington will be 2104 Paddington - Plymouth, diverted between Castle Cary and Exeter St. Davids via. Honiton & Axminster due to the engineering works and arriving Exeter St. Davids at 0010. But this train also gives no hint that it splits at Exeter St. Davids although it does have a 12 minute calling time at Exeter.

So my question is: how is the unit for 5P51 provided and - if applicable - from what train? I realise that the information on RTT may change in the next few weeks to give a better idea but there is nothing atm which gives any clues from the last few weeks.

Cheers,
Dave

It is difficult to track at the moment on RTT due to High Summer changes and COVID changes and not running. Here is the booked schedule from September of an ECS from Laira:-

Many thanks. I will put that in as a precaution until I know either way.
