59/2 Question

Hello all

sorry for posting a question to the forum.

1) Did the NP 59/2's just have a hook and bookeye or did they have a chain too?
2) Did the outer JHA's and JMA's have a buckeye or just a hook and chain?
3) When the 59's were coupled to the JHA's or JMA's, was the buckeye used or a hook and chain, as the pictures I have seen so far only show the outer wagons with buffers and a hook and chain, and no buckeye.

The 59/2s had 'Drop Head' Buckeyes, which do not have chains.

I believe JHA-Os and JMA-Os had Screw Link couplings (hook and chain) on the 'outer' end and Buckeyes at the 'inner' end.

JHA-Is and JMA-Is had Buckeyes at both ends.

Hi there, many thanks for confirming that.

I guess the 59/2's connected to the JHA-O's & JMA-O's via their screw link couplings. Which then begs the question as to why the 59/2's had drop head buckeyes?
