Must've been put back inside, wasn't around outside when I was in there 45 mins ago ;)

Looking good though, I like the 57/9 classification.

Has it been officially renumbered then? Not seen any mention of this anywhere else.

Also there is a photo on the Railway Herald website of it in the distance and that states it is numbered 57312.

Also, as 158901 - 158910 use 57901 - 57910 as coach numbers what are 57301, 57303, 57305, 57306 and 57310 (think I've got the right 57/3s) going to get renumbered to?

Looks like it's been dropped in a pot of yellow paint...

It does rather doesn't it, I think it will look better if/when it gets Network Rail branding on the sides that should help break up the yellow somewhat.

As said above, not been released yet at all.

Just been shunted to get it in the right order for the next coat of paint (black for the undersides), there were GLVs etc that needed spraying yellow first.

Just look at the other pics in the set!

Its needs something more than that to break up all that yellow in my opinion, it looks ok on the 37's as the grills break it up but it looks odd like that, i dunno what it needs but it needs something.

And why oh why does it need renumbering, just leave it with the number it has, all the renumbering everytime a loco gets painted or changes operators is just getting silly!

Right hang on...... ive just realised what it needs...

It needs a big brown strip painted all the way round the bottom and big KESTRAL graffics stuck on the centre of the bodyside!

.......... what do you think, am i on to something here?

Departmental locos have been renumbered since time immemorial, 40/47's to 97, the departmental 47/9's (excl 901 of course), 86/9's, 97/3's, 31/5's, countless DMU/EMU's...It all reflects their use.

Plus it's sort of technically a new sub-class anyway, as the Dellner's are being modified in height to suit Southern region EMU stock, rather than Pendos.

It looks just like any other NR loco...?

Wait until it gets a nice sheen of muck and crap over it to dull it down...

well exactly, its not the prettiest of liveries ever, but I suppose it does the job!

It just doesn't suit the 47/57 body shell, somebody mentioned earlier, theres nothing to break it up.

It's not actually finished yet, so maybe some detailing will go on around the underframe, solebar or window surrounds to break it up. There'll be a logo somewhere, though that's quite small, if they're going with the same style as the old ones.
