Is that this Sunday? (Bank holiday weekend?) This is the info off National Rail:

Virgin Trains

The following alterations will apply:

Sunday

Until 13:00, most trains to / from London Euston will start / terminate at Milton Keynes Central
From 13:00, a reduced level of service will run to / from London Euston

Monday

Until 12:00, a reduced level of service will run to / from London Euston

So it is possible that some trians could be dragged out of Euston. Would be fun if they were!

Despite what Nat Rail said east coast are showing hourly services to most places north taking over an hour to Milton Keynes and one with very slow journey time to Nuneaton. They also show Virgin running non-stop from Birmingham Int to Sandwell and Dudley to bypass the New Street works (which route does this go?) Also which route are they going from International to New Street a little later when they get over 30 minutes!
Its still better than the LM bus/train/bus combination that with all the changes can take 5+ hours to get to Birmingham from Watford with LOROL to Euston on the end!!

The ones bypassing New Street will go International - Stetchford - Aston - Perry Barr - Soho - Sandwell.

I note that in the Milton Keynes area, north of the station, that there's extra track and Hessian(?) bags laying around. Is the track being renewed this weekend?

Perhaps the overhead wires are out for part of the route, or there are diversions? (both would require voyagers / 57+pendolinos). London Midland only run EMUs to Euston; I'm not sure if any of their DMUs are cleared there.

The first time "intensive" drag work has been entrusted to the 57s for some time. With three leaving within ten minutes of each other, Virgin would do wise to have a standby somewhere near Milton Keynes itself in case one of them goes belly up leaving London.

not much of a diversion between Euston and MKC!

This will cover the rare side of the Soho triangle which as far I as I know has no booked working over it (apart from a class 20 tour today) if you are into track coverage.

I am not sure if the 0905 from Euston will be on the down slow at Milton Keynes, if not somebody will have to be PDQ uncoupling the 57 so not to hold up the 0910 from Euston.

If the 350s had kept their DC shoes they could run on the DC lines from Watford Jct.

307 standby. As predicted, all three drags encountered difficulty during the coupling up.

Some passengers turned away from 0905 Manchester, which only boardead at 0858.

0900 Liverpool full and standing left 25 down and declassified.

0910 also delayed

You know tomorrow? There are diversions between Birmingham and Wolverhampton which will be affecting LM, XC, ATW and Virgin, are these diversions going via Tame Bridge Parkway, does anyway know?

BTW, damn 309 and 312 being out when I cannot get anywhere!

Also heard that some people were fighting as well

Perhaps I was better off going to work...........

PS: Didn't immediately realise the trains had been re-timed  Should be 1F11 0910 dep, 1H03 0905 dep and 1G04 0910 dep - all rather irrelevant in the end!

Given the 0910 to Wolverhampton bypasses New Street passengers had to change for the 1201 bus from International. That crowd joined the full train load disembarking from the 1120 from Rugby. I was first off the 1120 from Rugby and even running for the bus I was one of the last let on the already full bus. How many buses did NatExp Rail Replacement have waiting....1 single decker (mine!) Cue many complaints and passengers got left along the route to add to the hoards at International.

It was announced on the 0910 Euston - Wolves that passengers travelling to New Street were advised to go travel to Sandwell & Dudley for a train back.

All four lines isolated until 13:00 Sunday, there is also single line working involved so very few paths available.

The info at work said single line working in the wrong direction from Bourne End to Wembley Central. Quite a long way !

Glad I'm off today, it's been a very very long time since I last did single line working over that distance.

I saw 2 66s top and tail on a engineers train head to wembley on the down slow line and also the first arrival from birmingham went on the down fast line towards wembley which delayed the glasgow by nearly an hour at wembley.

An interesting thing re 57312, I only realised when I had a look at her in Crewe that it was one of the 6 transferring to Network Rail, so today's journey will probably be her last scheduled passenger working for Virgin.

I thought that the 6x 57/3s going to Network Rail had been in storage for some time, and that they had already been handed over?

Thus, could it be said that today Virgin technically hired 57312 from Network Rail?

Why on earth didn't Virgin do the coupling much earlier given they were the first trains so technically they have all night to get it right!
