I'm writing a book (yes, honestly - see below) and I'm lacking one piece of information. Where was 56 131 shedded in May 1985? Was it Gateshead, or Blyth Cambois? I don't have a locoshed directory for that year, and I can't find anything online.

Sorry, got another one - where was 45 063 allocated in 1983 - was it TO?

The 1985 Combined Volume lists 56 131 as Gateshead, but bear in mind that data would be set a few months before May.

The 1983 book doesn't carry allocations but I think your guess at Toton is probably correct.

working from memory 56.131 would have been allocated to Gateshead but working from Cambois.
sure that 45.063 was TO

Cambois didn't have an allocation of 56s, they were all allocated to Gateshead but of course worked off Blyth.

Perhaps someone can advise why someone used to scrawl "DP" on the side of the north-east 56s in the grime?
