Prob a silly question.

Can anyone tell me why 56 051 has a Romanian built frontend when it would have been a Doncaster built one with the bigger grill ?.

Can anyone tell me why 56 051 has a Romanian built frontend when it would have been a Doncaster built one with the bigger grill ?.

Did it have a cab swap after accident damage at some point maybe? I don’t think it was the only one with mixed cab styles.

It’s not a Romanian built front end. The first 25 of the Doncaster batch had a similar front end design to the Romanian build. 56056 upwards had the later style with the raise horn grill, no lip to the buffer beam etc.
