Agreed altough my choice of word over its livery is disgusting.

I quite like it, better than the all White livery, is this being released fleet wide? I see the same Mauve doors are on the new Domestic High speed Class 395's too.

Well, any 508 isn't the best MU to look at, but SET have really mucked them up.
On another note, if they are going to be making a return to my line, then let's hope they have really sorted out the interior.

I don't think it looks too bad, just could have done with something at the end, similar to how they were in NSE colours. I would never have a livery that isn't black or grey above the orange line though, since once the roof starts curving in you start getting bits missed by the train wash and the roof itself will probably never see any kind of wash again (train washes do the sides only, they don't have a brush for the top like car and bus washes). It's not as bad as on diesels or overhead electrics where you get dirt from the exhaust or carbon from the pantograph, but the roof will still get quite dirty. Not sure why they have done the underframe in a different colour.

Perhaps not the most creative livery every seen, but I've seen far worse - ATW 175's anyone?

The livery on 508208 is much better that 205, but they're both probably more graffiti resistent and genenerally much better than their cousins at a certain Liverpool based company...

The roof gets done by most SR carriage washers.

It's gets my vote. Simple, unostentatious, and a change from the fad for swirls and swoops that we've had for the past few years. They might be fine on single unit trains but they work less well when several units are coupled together and a bit daft when you have to vary the design for different classes of unit (see SWT, for example).
