Haha, I wish........... :P

Anyway, brilliant photos there! I had 50031 and 50049 from Ashford, Kent all the way down to Kingswear back in 2005. Really enjoyable trip and I hope to get some more Class 50 miles in sometime :)

Keep up the good work!

We had that on a Kingfisher Tour once, I think it was the Nottingham - Folkestone Harbour trip, I was working behind the bar and we stopped at Kettering to drop some passengers off, there was a girl alone on the platform, then when we sets off the steward comes to the buffet with this superbly hellfire lass whom we offered a lift to Leicester. She just perched herself on the bench seat thing opposite me and she seemed quite interested as to our day's activities, and after that we got talking...then all too soon we'd arrived at Leicester and she left us :(
Needless to say, however, that she was the talking point for me, Andy (steward) and Roger (yes, Hardingham) for the rest of the trip to Nottingham, as well as the tour after that...good times! 8)

Anyway, excellent phots Jamie! :)

Nice vid, but that ain't a hoover sound. The unrefurbished 50's sounded a hell of a lot more louder in the hoover stakes, like it was really sucking hard. As far as i am aware Exeter has only been externally returned to unrefurbished state and internally she is still in the same refubished way as when on her later career on BR. I believe someone is returning a 50 back to the pre refurbished state externally and internally so someday soon you'll get to hear what a real hoover sounded like and you'll know what i mean by loud sucking ;)

It certainly sounds different to 049 though!
I don't know about the turning back properly to an unrefurb 50 cos I don't think the inertial filtration system is still available, they were refurbished in the 80s remember so the parts have prob been long gone.
Would be interesting to hear though!

I know 2 of them. Might see them tomorrow or Saturday night with a bit of luck. (Lassies, not vacs)

Nice photos though Jamie. Was great to see you again, even if it was only for about 5 seconds!
