Question from my Dad:

Does anyone know why the Dollands Moor to Scunthorpe has reverted from a 92 to a 66?

Cheers!

To free up a 92 to work the Dagenham to Valencia Transfesa train,
which now runs via HS1, so is 92-hauled vice 66.

Thanks for the answer Mark.

My Dad also says thanks - but there are about 20 92s stored and doing nothing so it seems odd to him.

There are enough locos to cover the work available, there is no point spending thousands of pounds getting a 92 up and running if the end result is a 66 sat idle with no work.

Sensible from an accountants point of view but it does look silly from our point of view.
