Hi everyone,
Sorting out some photographs today, I came across a van my friend and I had.
We painted it up in railfreight grey originally and then into railfreight coal livery, and numbered it 47902!
We got the paint and numbers from an actual railway depot which was given to us by the staff and manager at the time and purchased class 24 air horns which we connected up to an air canister!
We also also purchased a pair of 'official railfreight plates' and named the 'locomotive' Railfreight in 1989. It also had official British Rail steel arrows on both sides!
We took it to Old Oak Common and the painters and fitters loved it!
Sadly she went to scrap in 1992 and was unofficially allocated to both Tinsley and then Toton!! Anyway I have attached a picture...a bit old now, but thought they may be of interest!! It was also in Rail magazine in 1989 on page 7 and was a 3 quarter page spread in color which we were really proud of!
