Just watched an old episode of Trainspotting on Discovery Knowledge, they were at Old Oak Common and we on the 'Police' livery class 47, 47829.
When it was filmed they said it was owned by Virgin and still in regualr use, but this was a good few years ago, a quick search on t'internet has found a picture of it at Long Marston open day in a lineup of redundent locos on the 7th June 2009. Does anyone have anymore information on this loco? is it still owned by Virgin, still in 'Police' livery, does it ever see service?
For anyone who is interested, Trainspotting is on weekdays between 14.00 and 15.00 on Discovery Knowledge. This is one of the more enjoyable railway TV series I have seen, especially the Caledonian Sleeper one!
