IMO i definately prefered 47826 when it had the very attractive IC livery until a year or two ago.


Off topic:

I've got a good quality photo of the Cotton Mills Express steam tour this morning, but can't find my USB link for the camera.... Any idea if these would be expensive to replace if i don't find it?

Cheers - should be able to get some decent photos there when it's a bit brighter!

Took me by surprise a bit too, 175111 had just passed north, but the route had been set for the unit about 5 minutes longer than it had been set for the charter, so I wasn't wholly expecting it! But considering the rainy cirumstances, I'm quite pleased with the photo.

Ahh 47826...My pet 47 8)
I fondly remember her in IC colours with her Springburn nameplates. On trips to Holyhead, Carlisle and Blackpool with her...those were the days
I was quite saddened to hear that she'd been painted maroon, but oh well, at least she's still running

826 is also my pet 47, which I had around 2 years ago on a "Green Express Railtour" from Blackburn to Edinburgh, out via the ECML, back via the WCML, with Metrocammel on the drinks trolley :razz:

I think 826 is many peoples pet spoon

I first saw her back in 2004 going through Milton Keynes whilst still in use with Virgin! Shame about the loss of the livery - but its still in active service at the end of the day
