47715 Full Diagram

Having worked 8 return trips on the Wensleydale Railway in 3 days 47715 has had to be withdrawn from traffic temporarily having failed whilst hauling the 14.50 ex-Leeming Bar at Harmby crossing. The train was rescued by 03144 after it shut down with low oil pressure. Current service arrangements are un-clear but 'proper oil' is on order so hopefully '715 will be back in traffic in the near future. With the DMU out of action it could well be a bus service for now at least but call 08454 50 54 74. I will endeavour to let you know when she is up & about again!

Couldn't you just offer a shunter service im sure there are some out there who wouldn't mind shunter haulage and it'sd still a train.

Not for me to say but they might struggle to find a driver: 03144 is a jumpy little ****

Suspect the 03 may overheat doing 3 round trips of 34 miles as well!

Ours D2023 http://www.treatco.co.uk/Class 03 Loco.htm will cope quite well with 2 Mk1 coaches over a return trip of 20 miles on the KESR. Top speed is 28 mph. Ascent of Tenterden Bank (1 in 35 for over a mile) requires some patience though and i wouldnt like to do it 3 times a day!

Sorry to hear of your problems Wensley. SAE 30 oil should be readily available off the shelf by the way!

Fair enough but I suppose it's better than having a rail replacement bus.

Couldn't agree more but at least i'm not the one sorting it out. I do photographs for them so I'm not the one worrying but it seems a real shame all the same.

Panic over the 110 trailer car has been thrown onto the 101 stock and is running normal service if not in a slightly shabby condition.
