Hi all,
Can anyone update me as to the status/location of this machine?
It's an old favourite of mine. I've done a search but nothing recent popped up.

It’s been at the Wensleydale Railway for over three years, and last ran in 2009. Various rumours have persisted that it is to be cut up for scrap to provide spare parts for operational 47715 on the Wensleydale line, after it was offered for sale by owners HNRC in 2009, but this picture dated 3rd January 2011 shows it clearly to still be in one piece at Leeming Bar:

Class 47.co.uk gives the most up to date records I've found. Pretty good for pics as well

It's a great site and as you say good for pics but I don't think the pool allocations, liveries, operational statuses have been as regularly updated in recent months/years. The Advenza/Cotswold machines are still shown as operational, for example.

WNXX's Fleet Status site http://www.wnxx.info/fleetstatus/ gives a fleet status list in xls format downloadable or viewable online, which is updated regularly for all extant locos (and there is a similar spreadsheet on WNXX.com's Resources section for scrapped locos). It's quite a impressive resource. The last update was 1/12/10 and indeed shows 47703 as stored at the Wensleydale Railway.

Its still stored there and is broken, I don't think there are any plans to fix it at the moment.

Thanks for the Gen folks, Much appreciated. I remember that old goat workin out of Pancras in the 1970s along with the 45/1s. I'm going to Yorkshire in Feb so I'll take the opportunity to phot it and say goodbye.
