Hi,

I've had a look on wiki and there is no information.

But for many years I've always noticed a 47 parked in the sidings at Gloucester.

Does any one know who owns this or what it's just dumped there?

I'm guessing it no longer works it's been there for some time.

It was owned/operated by Advenza Railfreight, who went to the wall (financially speaking). It is 47237 that used to be operated by DRS before a mutual exchange of locos between the two operators. It may belong to some form of receiver?

Thanks for that! I guessed it had something to do with Advenza as you can see the imprint from the text.

Seen a loco at Cardiff once not sure if that was a 47 too but it was blue and had Advenza written on it.

Spoke to a dispatcher I know at Cheltenham who said Network Rail want it moving but they can't find an owner which is why I'm curious to know about it...

The loco you've seen at Cardiff is the similarly abandoned 57005. It would be a struggle to get it started, and according to the last driver of it has fuel only for about 100miles and a desire to drink too much oil!

Another Advenza 47 rusting away at Heaton as well.

57 actually, not that there’s a difference from the outside without looking at the number. 57006 to be precise. Various Advenza locos just abandoned around the country wherever they happened to be when the company went bust.
