The BREL/ABB
Class 465s are to be re-engineered with Hitachi traction packages
from 2008 onwards (prototype set), using the technology proven by
the ex Class 310 V-Train testbed.

It was posted on UKModernEMU.

I can believe it personally, it'll be why the Desiros are sounding like Networkers...

Wasn't the technology tested in the V-Train for the future traction package being installed in the Hitachi Olympic Javelin high speed services via the CTRL, not for high frequency stopping services these Networkers perform? It makes no sense to re-engineer these units with a traction package designed for high performance and infrequent stops.

Also if these traction packages were to be changed wouldnt that islolate these unit from working in multipul with the GEC/Met-camm built networkers? Not the best idea and i for one think this story smells a bit fishy.

Does this mean they will be also re-geared to 100mph too provided these are the outer suburban 465s?
