460 diagrams this week

Has anyone got information on when the 460s are running on the Gatwick Express this week? In particular, I would be interested in knowing whether any of the trains from Gatwick at 0605, 0620, 0635 and 0650 is a 460.

I haven't got any diagrams for you unfortunately, but you better get them in quickly. 460001 has now apparently been split, and the final two 460s are due to finish in two weeks time - failures pending.

460 001/002 have been used on a regular basis before the Olympics and Paralympics, I understand that they have been bolstered by extra units during the Games by I think 007 plus another on standby at Stewarts Lane as has been reported in Rail mag

Shame I missed that. I was at Gatwick earlier and saw that there was no 460s on the 1835 or 1905 (the usual 460 diagrams when they are used) so went home!

Apparently Friday 14th/Saturday 15th, next week, is likely to be the last 460 on the Gatwick Express.

460002 and 460007 are the only candidates to be used in service for the next week, as 460001 is split in half at Stewarts Lane.

I saw the 1905 as a 460 this evening. I was on the 1900 which was a 442 this evening, but a 460 yesterday evening.

Two 460s making a rare Sunday appearance on Gatwick Express today, 460002 and 460007.

I will be very sad to see these get swallowed into other units. Passengers deserve better, for a start...

There is a very strong rumour that today (Sat 15 Sep 2012) will see the final 460 service. I don't believe it myself, heard it too many times before, but if true, the last passenger service will be 1U57, 23:20 Gatwick Airport to Victoria. 460002 has the honours. Don't expect a fanfare.

Indeed 460002 is on the Gatwick Express today, on the usual 460 saturday diagram (posted the diagram in Frequently Requested Diagrams thread a while ago).

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me either if I find a 460 in service at Gatwick before next weekend!

Asked the gate attendant at Victoria, he says the last 2 trains of the day will be 460s. I really hope he's wrong

He was wrong.... Currently on 460002 to Gatwick, seems to be running every 1hr 45, I will be the fanfare!!!!

I was on the final southbound 460 journey on the Gatwick Express, 0002 from London Victoria.

460002 ends 12 years of Class 460 operation on the Gatwick Express in a few minutes with the 0050 Gatwick to London Victoria!

It certainly is sad to see such lovely trains butchered. The smart darth vader faces will be a thing of the past. I was recently thinking the class 180 is the best looking british train but this might well edge it.
