45699 Galatea loaded test run 29th Jan 2014

LMS 45699 Galatea ran a loaded test run out of Carnforth via the normal circular route through Hellifield and Blackburn before taking charge of the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express the following Saturday .45699 is first seen at Low Bentham before the brief stop at Hellifield . The final shot sees 45699 blasting towards Langho station on the long climb up Wilpshire bank .

Great footage-One question. I live 6 miles from carnforth and only knew about this 2 days after when it appeared on UK Main lines movement page. How does one find out BEFORE these events??!

Thanks for the kind comments . I only find out about the moves from the National Preservation website that has a thread called test runs and ecs movements plus mates I know hear things from the lineside when they are out and about .

In fairness those times went up very late, possibly even after it had left Carnforth. They sometimes don't go up till afterwards, probably because West Coast are funny about publicising the details.

Nat Pres sometimes has posts about LE movements, or you can try checking RTT to see if the path has been 'activated'.
