45407 The Cumbrian Mountain Express 24/1/15

LMS 45407 ( The Lancashire Fusilier ) & 45690 Leander were due to be at the helm of The Railway Touring Companies railtour The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express from Manchester Victoria to Carlisle via Shap summit and back again over the Settle and Carlisle line but due to 45690 being declared failed at Carnforth in the morning the tour ran with just 45407 . The tour was originally planned to have the two Jubilee class locos based at Carnforth for this tour but 45407 would ultimately replace 45699 Galatea . The first shot sees 45407 attacking the 1 in 75 gradient at Salterwath but the 5 flew up the gradient with the class 47 on the rear pushing like crazy . The return would see 45407 at a freezing cold Birkett common .
