40145 is currently being repainted in Buckley Wells in preparation for the East Lancs 20th Anniversary. The loco will go into Large Logo livery and the headcode box is to be removed.

Here are a few shots of the repaint, courtesy of Derek Gordon.

For a few months - I heard it was going green afterwards but don't hold me to it.

Looks great although I personally prefered it in blue.
It still is blue, only with a bit more yellow, black and white ;)
Shame about the nameplates though, not in style with the 40 'plates. :(

I think it looks great. Shame the 40s never carried it though.

Looks very nice. Shame they didn't paint the axle boxes yellow though. That would have just finished it off!

It was considered that the loco took 40445 on again, but ultimately it was decided to keep the loco as 40145. :)

Dont like it myself, but is a good paint job.

think preserved locos should be just that, in a livery they carried in the old BR days be that original green or blue, also not a fan of non original plates.

Would be well hacked off if i paid to go on a tour and it turned up in the large logo livery.

What difference does it make once you're inside the train? At least it looks presentable.

I agree. I'm on the Buxton Forester tour, specifically for 40145 haulage. I'm not bothered what livery it's got, just the thrash! :D

I first saw a pic of this on WNXX and at first theought it was one of these ficticious repaints from the guys at AC Loco group. In all honesty it looks 'kin awful. I am not a 40 fan ( as I havent seen that many in the flesh) but it just looks down right wrong.
