40145 + NR water cannon

40145 + about 4 NR water cannons passed Ashton Moss Junction about 20 minutes ago heading towards Manchester Victoria. I'm told they're heading to Warrington Aperley, so if you're interested, you may be able to catch it en-route. ;)

Question though, why was 40145 doing it? Why not and EWS or DRS loco, or even a NR one? :|

Still, was interesting to see if pass! :)

40145 did Arply to York this morning, been at Arpley since it's tour on Monday,l believe the water cannons are going to the East lancs for something hence why 40145 was used as it needed to go back there anyway.

Using the RHTT on the ELR. 40145 was used because it was logisically cheap etc.
