4 day week roster question

Can anyone please give me an example of a typical 4 day week train drivers roster that includes Sunday's. Thanks

If you're just looking at days on/off, days on as follows:

1. We Th Fr Sa
2. Su Mo Th Fr
3. Mo Tu Th Sa
4. Su Mo Tu We
5. We Th Fr Sa
6. Su Tu We Th
7. Mo Tu Fr Sa
8. Su Mo Tu We

This gives a six day long-weekend, every fourth week. Every other Sunday is worked.

2 Weeks (4 day week) with a 6 day consecutive run. There are a plethora of permutations that all get agreed locally.

6 Day weekend \0/

Again, just another permutation and this time in your benefit. You really have to switch your mentality from a single monday to friday week and look holistically over the course of a roster. Long weekends mean you can grab The Wife for a city break with the little'un's (school permitting)

Thanks guys that's a great insight. How do the shift patterns vary regarding early starts and late starts? Is it one week early one week late etc?

That is how it is for us.

Anything booking on between 00.01 - 11.59 is considered an early start.
Anything booking on between 12.01 - 23.59 is considered a late.

There are no hard and fast rules (not even that you will work 4 days per week*) because each company will have their own version) and even each depot will have their own variation of that!


* Some links might work 5 days per week and then have a week of rest days every 5 weeks or so.

The only way to be sure is to get a copy of the links at the depot you want to work.
